Effective date: 30 August 2026
SkipTrack ("we", "us", "our") operates the Skip Track mobile application (the "App"). This policy describes what data we collect from drivers who use the App, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.
The App is a business-to-business tool provided to employees (drivers) of skip bin hire companies that use the SkipTrack platform. There is no public registration. Access is provisioned by the driver's employer (the "Tenant").
| Category | Data | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Identity | Name, email address | Authentication and display within the App |
| Location | Precise GPS coordinates (foreground and background) | Delivery tracking, proof-of-service tagging, yard geofence detection |
| Photos | Images captured via the device camera | Proof-of-service, weighbridge ticket capture, maintenance documentation |
| Employment | Clock in/out times, break times, leave requests | Timesheet management |
| Operational | Job status updates, cash declarations, waste ledger entries | Day-to-day skip bin operations |
| Device | Push notification token, platform, OS version, app version | Delivering push notifications, error diagnostics |
| Diagnostics | Error messages, stack traces | Identifying and fixing bugs |
Data is stored in a Supabase-hosted PostgreSQL database with row-level security enforcing tenant isolation. Each business's data is separated by tenant ID; drivers can only access data belonging to their employer. Authentication tokens and PINs are stored in the device's secure enclave via Expo SecureStore. Photos are uploaded over HTTPS to encrypted cloud storage.
Your data is retained for as long as your employer maintains an active SkipTrack account. If your employer deactivates your account or terminates their subscription, your data is deleted in accordance with our data retention schedule (typically within 90 days of account closure). Your last-known location is deleted 90 days after it was last updated. Timesheet, pay, job and payment records are kept for 7 years to meet workplace and tax record-keeping rules.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
To exercise these rights, contact your employer (the Tenant) or email us directly at support@skiptrack.app. Deletion requests are handled as described at skiptrack.app/delete-account.
The App requests both foreground and background location permission. Background location is used to keep dispatch updated with driver positions while navigating between stops. Location data is transmitted only while the driver is clocked in and actively on shift. You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings; some features (proof-of-service GPS tagging, live tracking) will be unavailable without it.
The App is a workplace tool and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the App or via your employer. The "Effective date" at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
If you ask for a demo on the SkipTrack website (skiptrack.io), we collect the details you type into the form: your name, business name, phone number, email address, fleet size and any message you add. We use them only to reply to your enquiry and to arrange a demo. The enquiry is emailed to us through our email provider, Resend, and we do not sell it or use it for anything unrelated to your request.
We keep an enquiry for as long as we need it to follow up, and delete it when you ask. This website does not currently use advertising or analytics trackers. To see or delete what you sent us, email support@skiptrack.app.
